Frequently Asked Questions

What is the price of your service?

Wedding packages vary in price based on duration, location and any other specific requirements. Please get in touch to discuss a package that can be tailor made to your exacting needs.

What does the wedding package include?

A generic answer is the package includes all of the on site photography throughout the day, any travel costs if applicable, all of the consultations and meetings in person before the wedding day.

All of your hand finished edited images will be presented to you on your own personal, password protected online gallery. You can download all of your images straight to your PC, phone or tablet.

How far in advance should I contact you?

As soon as you feel ready to. As far in advance as you can would be my advice, so as to secure your date in the diary.

Do you cover more than one wedding a day?

No, One wedding a day is all that I do. I like to put my all into my work, and I feel this wouldn't be possible doing more than one wedding in a day.

Are you able to travel?

Yes I am able to travel. I don't charge for travel if it is within a 30 mile radius from my home. Any further then there is a small charge, simply to cover any fuel costs.

What is the charge for travelling?

It depends entirely on how far I have to travel. I only charge enough to cover my fuel and one way of travel.

What style of photos do you take?

I would describe a documentary style, which is relaxed and natural. I love both colour and black and white, so I generally mix it up with a bit of both. I use a wide lens, and a telephoto lens, so I can take wide open shots, as well as closer, tighter shots. Candid shots, and shots where people aren't aware they are being photographed are usually my favourite, as they are more honest and portray real emotion. If you have a specific look you would like, then let me know and we can work towards trying to gets the shots and style you're really looking for.

What kind of technology do you use?

Without sounding like a techno bore, I use Nikon cameras and lenses, as well as Sigma lenses, and Nikon flashes. But at the end of the day the cameras and lenses are just tools, it's the person behind the camera that takes the photos! ;-)

Do you send all the photos taken?

No. I will take more photos than I need to ensure I get every shot I require. It is my job as the photographer to sift through and thin out any images that may not reach the high standard required, so as the finished album consists of only the very best photos of the day.

Do you work alone or do you have a team of professionals?

I generally prefer to work alone. A lot of wedding photographers work as a pair, but I personally like to capture the day from start to finish on my own. I think the final album looks more coherent and natural this way.

In case of unforeseen circumstances, do you have a replacement photographer?

Yes, although I hope this never to be an issue! Fingers crossed so far so good!

Do you have the rights to publish the wedding photos?

The finished images are the property of the married couple, although my contract does state that I have permission to use any of the images for online promotion if I need to. Though generally this would only be a handful, and would only be added to my website etc, and I would still inform the couple out of politeness if I were to do so.

Do you charge per hour or per event?

Generally per event, but will charge by the hour for time worked over if necessary on the day.

If needed, would you be able to work extra hours?

More often than not yes, it shouldn't be a problem at all.

How do you charge extra time?

Extra time is charged at £90 an hour. This includes the extra photography, as well as any additional finished photos taken during this time added to the online album.

What are the forms of payment?

Mostly through bank transfer, although, PayPal, cheques and cash are accepted also.
